Dutch 1599-1641 Anthony Van Dyck Locations Flemish painter and draughtsman, active also in Italy and England. He was the leading Flemish painter after Rubens in the first half of the 17th century and in the 18th century was often considered no less than his match. A number of van Dyck studies in oil of characterful heads were included in Rubens estate inventory in 1640, where they were distinguished neither in quality nor in purpose from those stocked by the older master. Although frustrated as a designer of tapestry and, with an almost solitary exception, as a deviser of palatial decoration, van Dyck succeeded brilliantly as an etcher. He was also skilled at organizing reproductive engravers in Antwerp to publish his works, in particular The Iconography (c. 1632-44), comprising scores of contemporary etched and engraved portraits, eventually numbering 100, by which election he revived the Renaissance tradition of promoting images of uomini illustri. Pier Francesco Guala
(15 September 1698 - 27 February 1757), also known as Pierfrancesco and Pietro Francesco, was an eighteenth-century Italian painter active for the most part in the region of his place of birth, Casale Monferrato. Guala was the seventh of eight siblings of whom only he and a sister survived infancy. His mother died when he was five and he was brought up by his father, Lorenzo, who himself was a painter and perhaps related to the architect Sebastiano Guala. Pier Francesco Guala died in Milan on 27 February 1757.

Korin Alexey (1865-1923) - brief biography Alexey Korin was born in 1865. The main themes of his painting were Russian lanscapes, genre-scenes, portraits, interiors. Studied at the Moscvow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1884-1889. Gradueted from this school with big silver medal. Was the member and took part at the exhebitions of the The Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions (the Itinerants group) since 1891. Teached at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture since 1894. Took part at the World Art Exhibition in Paris in 1900. Some of the paintings of Alexey Korin were bought by Pavel Tretyakov for his collection.
